Saint Andrew's School hosted the Florida Foreign Language Association (FFLA) Conference Summer Institute, offering an excellent opportunity for world language teachers from different educational settings in Florida to connect and collaborate.
The conference had over 50 attendees from over 20 public and private schools throughout Broward, Palm Beach, Polk Counties, and Florida Virtual.
The conference opened with a welcome from Dr. Elle Anthony, Saint Andrew’s World Language Chair and FFLA President, who was delighted that FFLA’s theme of “Belonging” had brought together such an impressive group of educators. Yensen Sierra Lambert, World Languages Chair at Green Farms Academy in Connecticut and the 2023 COLT Teacher of the Year, was the keynote speaker for the event.
Throughout the day, participants attended various workshops designed to address the latest trends and challenges in language education. The conference also provided networking opportunities, fostering connections that can lead to future collaborations and professional growth.
Dr. Anthony, who organized the event, shared that, "This conference was a vibrant gathering for local language educators to exchange innovative teaching strategies, discover new linguistic and cultural insights, and participate in meaningful discussions with colleagues and experts in the field."
